What’s your favorite part about the Urban Youth Academy in Compton, CA?

“I get the opportunity to sharpen my baseball skills, receive extra help on my homework, and make new friends.”

If you could hang out with one professional baseball player for the day, who would it be and why?

“The one professional baseball player I would hang out with for a day is  Yasiel Puig of the Los Angeles Dodgers, because he is a great right fielder and I admire his aggressiveness.”

If you make it to the Big Leagues, what would your “walk-up” song be?

“Travis Scott – Antidote”
How have our tutors at the Urban Youth Academy helped you achieve your academic goals?

“When I first joined the Urban Youth Academy my grades were not good and my dad eventually suspended me from playing baseball until my grades got better. I came to tutoring at the Urban Youth Academy three times a week, every week until my grades were better. Now I have almost all A’s on my report card and I am able to play baseball again.”
What do you want to be when you get older?

“A pilot for the U.S. Air Force.”
