Compton College Wins Big

Dear Academy Members and Friends,

We would like to extend a special congratulations to the Compton College baseball and softball teams on their wins yesterday!

The Compton Tartars (1-0) beat the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines, 6-5. The Lady Tartars (1-0) defeated the Lady Panthers of Chaffey College, 10-1 (five innings).

Urban Youth Academy’s 2nd Annual Community Day

The Academy will be hosting its 2nd Annual Community Day on next Saturday, February 1, 2014. Events will commence at 8 a.m. and will include a college, health, and resource fair as well as Compton College’s home opener. We hope you all will join us in celebration of the City of Compton and the wonderful people that make this community outstanding!

Today’s Workouts Still A Go!

Dear Academy Members and Friends,

Today’s workouts are still a go in spite of the Glendora fire. However, all of those with asthma must have their inhalers on hand in order to participate. Our athletic trainer is present to assist with all needs as necessary.

Baseball for All Clinic

Dear Academy Members and Friends,

The Urban Youth Academy will be hosting an instructional clinic for girls of all ages on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 20th. Instruction will be given by Academy coaches and will include a modified, instructional game. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m., with activites following from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Preregistration is mandatory in order for age and skill groups to be made accordingly. Space is limited.
