Academy Barons Celebrate Armed Forces Day 6-21-09
The Academy Barons celebrated Armed Forces Day during their game against California Collegiate League rival, the Santa Barbara Foresters, on Sunday afternoon. In honor of Father’s Day and in honor of those who have served our country, the Academy Barons welcomed Col. Leandro Bailey, retired Sgt. Eldridge Eatmon, retired Cpl. James Roberts and several from the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard.
Col. Leandro Bailey, retired Sgt. Eldrige Eatmon and retired Cpl. James Roberts threw out the ceremonial first pitch. The Barons and the Foresters thanked them for their duty and service to the country.
Following the ceremonial first pitch, the U.S. Marines from Marine Wing Support Group 37 stationed at Marine Corp Air Station in Miramar, Calif. presented Colors during the National Anthem. It was a memorable way to honor all the fathers in the country and to recognize and show gratitude to those who are serving our country.
