It’s going to be a showcase game, featuring high school players from all over the Southern California area.
There is going to be over 150 Scouts from all over in attendance.
Hitting starts at 10:00 AM Game starts at 1:00 PM

Note: Being that December 01, was World AIDS day, Dr. Gail E. Wyatt, UCLA Professor, Dept of Psychiatry & Bio-behavioral Sciences and Associate Director, UCLA AIDS Institute gave a very informative speech on educating our kids, esp. in the African-American Community about the AIDS crisis in the USA.
She made a note of how parents need to take the lead in education our kids.

Major League Baseball Umpire Camp
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL UMPIRE CAMP WERE HELD NOV. 4-11 AT THE URBAN YOUTH ACADEMY IN COMPTON, CALIF.
Aspiring umpires had the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from some of Major League Baseball’s finest at the second annual MLB Umpire Camp Nov. 4-11at the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy.
The eight MLB umpires that served as instructors at the camp include crew chiefs Tim Tschida and Larry Young and umpires Gary Cederstrom, Kerwin Danley, Brian Gorman, Sam Holbrook, Jerry Layne and Brian Runge. Also joining the staff will be MLB Umpire Supervisors Rich Rieker, Cris Jones, Jim McKean and Marty Springstead, MLB Medical Services Director Mark Letendre, Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. (PBUC) representatives and several Minor League Baseball umpires.
Field instruction for the umpire camp were held at MLB’s Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California, and classroom work will take place at the Holiday Inn Long Beach (California). The camp is open to men and women ages 18 and up with a high school diploma or GED.
Campers are not required to have previous umpiring experience. About Major League Baseball Umpire Camps http://www.mlbuc.com/ Major League Baseball Umpire Camps is a non-profit entity providing world-class umpire training with opportunities for attendees to earn scholarships to one of the two professional umpire schools/academies.
MLBUC offers attendees to improve all facets of their work, including plate work, base work and positioning, rules interpretations, Mechanics For The Two-Umpire System, the system worked in the lower Minor Leagues, as well as “Tips from the Trainer” to improve physical well being and prolong your career.
